We love having all the dogs in a pack socialize, including some who may sleep in the same room together. It's all lovely good fun! All dogs at High Vibes have been here for a meet and greet. It is the first part of familiarizing them with the area and new smells to new people and other dogs. Socialization, comfort and care are keys to good stays to reassure them that their people will be back for them.
A few tips in preparation for leaving your beloved furry creature, particularly if they have not stayed away from home before without their people.
1) Bring some of their stuff - toys, bed, something that smells like you or their favorite blanket.
2) Their food for the stay and if they have any special treats. - A mention of their medications as well if they are on any and including supplements; joint, mix-ins etc.
3) Leash, food bowl, favorite toys including chewing and balls again.
The dogs may experience separation anxiety the first few hours after you have left. The first night is usually the most difficult for them but all dogs settle-in, hence we have a two night minimum so they may settle into a routine with the household; regular sleep, walk, play and nap to run around hours. All dogs are usually out one last time with a final treat in the evening, overnight in their bed or area and up around dawn or later to first potty, meal and on to the first long walk in the morning while it's still cool. Most early evenings we go on a long walk before dinner and if they have a second meal as well.
If you would like to have an air tag on the dog so you can monitor them, that's fine with us. We text you plenty of pictures throughout their stay and provide daily updates as to their progress let alone antics - squirrel and deer chasing to butterflies and snipes/lizards are mainstays.
